The Helicopter Winch training dummy was designed, manufactured, and tested in collaboration with experts from Bristow Helicopters. Here are its main features:
Lighter legs compared to the standard model for better buoyancy.
The dummy will remain seated in a comfortable and stable posture while hooked to the helicopter winch.
Compatible with lifting straps both standard and hypothermic.
Hooks inside the knees and ankles allow the legs to be kept together.
The robust nylon mesh structure allows water to penetrate quickly, causing the legs to sink below the surface and leaving only the head and shoulders visible, if desired.
The adult dummy (height 180 cm) goes from 40 kg dry weight to about 65 kg when recovered from water.
Floats horizontally, vertically, or at 45 degrees, to simulate a living person or a corpse. The desired type of buoyancy can be achieved in a few seconds by redistributing the polyethylene inserts in the suit.
The bright orange suit with SOLAS reflective tape on the head makes the dummy clearly visible.
A reinforced ring on the back of the dummy allows for handling, lifting, storage, and hanging for drying.
Soft feet are designed to allow rapid drainage so as not to bring too much water into the helicopter.
The dummy comes complete with suit and soft feet, easily replaceable if damaged
