The wedge-type quick connector is designed to replace the lifting hook in flight, in case the cable is damaged, broken, or tangled. It allows crew members to cut the cable and attach a replacement hook in less than a minute to continue the mission. A flat-head screw preloads the wedge against the cable. As the weight increases, the internal forces holding the cable become increasingly firm for effective cable retention. The easy-to-follow instructions are printed on the front. Made of anodized aluminum with stainless steel fasteners for greater strength and corrosion resistance. The quick connector is available separately or as an emergency hook replacement kit, including D-LOK hook, cable cutters, and a case. Superior to wrap-around models and those that fasten through, the quick connector offers:
