The SAR inflatable vest is a compact and lightweight inflatable flotation device, worn over the head by rescue swimmers. This vest offers proper self-righting (face up) and provides 35 pounds of buoyancy. It can be inflated manually with CO2 or via the dedicated tube. Made of 420 denier high-strength nylon, the vest uses replaceable air chambers. It incorporates all current modifications to the LPU-28A/P regulations of the US Navy, including the PRC-125 modification. In addition, it includes a 33 g CO2 cylinder.
It is approved by the US Navy and the US Army
