TECHNICAL ALERT – Improper Marketing of Non-Approved Medevac Stretchers and Rescue Baskets

Aviotech issues an urgent warning to all operators in the aeronautical and rescue sector: counterfeit Medevac hoistable stretchers and rescue baskets that fully replicate the original models of Lifesaving Systems LLC are being distributed on the market, without any authorization or official certification.

These counterfeit devices, although appearing identical to the originals, do not meet the safety, quality, and certification standards required for use in NATO environments and in air-transported rescue operations.

Operational and Legal Risks

The use of non-approved equipment entails serious dangers:

• Structural failures during hoisting, with direct risk to the life of the patient and the operator.
• Non-compliant materials that may deteriorate in marine environments, at high altitude, or in extreme conditions.
• Lack of traceability and technical documentation, which prevents maintenance and verification according to military standards.
• Violation of NATO regulations, resulting in exclusion from international operational scenarios.
• Criminal and civil liability for those who use non-certified devices in SAR, Medevac, or Combat Recovery operations.

Counterfeit products do not have Armaereo Certification or Airworthiness Release, essential requirements for use on military and civilian aircraft. Without these certifications:

• Compatibility with flight platforms is not guaranteed.
• Use in official evacuation or recovery operations is not permitted.

How to Recognize an Authentic Product

• Check for the presence of the NSN (NATO Stock Number).
• Check for the presence of the Part Number and engraved Serial Number
• Request Armaereo and Airworthiness Release certifications.
• Purchase exclusively from authorized dealers with documentary traceability.
